After a grueling thirteen-hour grind, the PS Super High Roller reaches its decisive moment with 🇳🇱 Tom Henricus Verbruggen emerging victorious. Competing for a TWD 3,712,800 prize pool, Verbruggen outlasts the field and secures the largest share, adding a Players Series trophy to his growing résumé.

From Short Stack to Chip Dominance

Verbruggen’s journey is anything but straightforward. At one point, his forty big blind advantage disappears entirely, leaving him with just three big blinds as the pressure intensifies. Four-handed, the turnaround begins. He finds three consecutive double-ups, rebuilding his stack and restoring confidence.

A critical confrontation against 🇵🇭 David Erquiaga shifts the balance completely. Verbruggen’s top pair holds, giving him roughly 70% of the chips in play and positioning him firmly for the final duel.

Quick Heads-Up Finish and Emotional Reflections

The heads-up battle moves swiftly, with Verbruggen closing it out to complete a remarkable comeback. Reflecting on the victory, he shares:

“Amazing. I’m really happy. Actually, this is the first year that I’m playing almost full-time, live poker. I would say completely full-time. For the past months, I’ve been grinding really hard. I had some fortune here in Taipei recently at the APT where I won two trophies. Recently, I got second place. I think the last three heads-ups in a row, I got second place. So I was really hungry to win the trophy because obviously the money is amazing.”

“I feel very grateful, but it’s an extra nice feeling when you win. Because the feeling I have now is pure happiness. I always say, when you’re a poker player and you’re really competitive, second place, it doesn’t matter how you lose. If it was unlucky, if you were lucky, winning feels great and becoming second is just a tap away from that great feeling. So I’m really happy.”

From near elimination to ultimate triumph, 🇳🇱 Tom Henricus Verbruggen delivers one of the most dramatic performances of the series.
